Specialization Courses

Each teacher candidate (TC) will have two specializations in their cohort:

Cohorts include:

  • Biology and Chemistry
  • Math and Chemistry
  • Math and Biology
  • English and Literature
  • History and Islamic Religious Education

For each specialization, students take two content courses (DSE courses) and two teaching methods courses (EDUC courses with the exception of Literature and Islamic Religious Education that are DSE courses).

Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics

Teacher candidates enrolled in these specializations will take their core and specialization courses (content and methods) in 2014/15 and 2015/16.

English, Literature, History, and Islamic Religious Studies

Teacher candidates enrolled in these specializations will be admitted in 2014 and 2015. Teacher candidates admitted in 2014 will complete their program within three years (2014-2017) and TCs admitted in 2015 will complete their program in two years (2015-2017). Practicum for these cohorts will be May to July in 2016 and 2017.
